Keep standing your ground, the letter was thoughtful and clear in its reasoning and actually demonstrating care, unlike those who took issue with it.

Brilliant initiative with this letter. In some ways I can't believe how polarising this has become, it reminds me of the early days of covid when all the conspiracy theorists came out of the dark and some of them were my friends. The idea that genAI is a 'tool' is really bugging me these days. There are articles where people talk about 'people rejected the printing press and the telephone...', it's like these people really don't understand what's going on. I applaud you for starting to shout about it. Did you see Ted Gioia's article about AI being bundled into everything we buy and use as a matter of course, because in some survey or other only 8% of people said they wanted it and would actually pay for it? That Meta et al's shareholders would freak out if they knew how much money had been invested in products that nobody wants? The other thing that's pissing me off is this idea of 'resisting the technological changes that are....' whatever it was she said. Like these super-cool things are happening in the world and we need to stop being luddites and get with the programme. When everything is being driven by a few powerful men who have infiltrated every system and whose only concern is to make more money.
