Hi Miriam, I love your garden and all your little succulents!

Thanks for sharing about this part of you. It's inspiring to see and makes me think about my own garden and lack of love that it receives from me. It has been so dry in South Australia this year that I have left my lawn to perish. It's a fairly large lawn and I've struggled to keep it alive since I moved into this house six years ago. At the moment I don't think it is redeemable. I have a property inspection this week and would love to have a plan to put to my landlord about how better to use the garden space I have. I just don't know where to start, or what this could look like. Perhaps a succulent garden is a good place to start?

Thanks Leah! It's so tough with the climate isn't it... so many of the succulents turned into husks over summer with the relentless dry weather, and it's just got its mojo back now so I felt like celebrating :p

A massive lawn is hard too. Maybe pick a zone to nurture, rather than trying to fix it all?

Succulents are definitely an awesome place to start! I have a bunch of these great bronzey-looking ones called "Graptoveria Fred Ives" that are really happy in direct sun and dryness (https://jnsucculents.com.au/products/graptoveria-fred-ives-1)

I guess we all have a different thing that nourishes us, though... it sounds like yours is much more physical and embodied, with yoga, which I've always struggled with :)
